Titanium is as strong as steel but 45% lighter, all while being unaffected by metal fatigue and cracking. These are the main reasons why titanium is used for parts that spend thousands of reliable hours in the air inside jet engines. Not only is it strong and light, but it has great corrosion resistance. It really is an incredible material.
Copper is one of the few metals that occurs in nature in directly usable metallic form as opposed to needing extraction from an ore. Copper on its own can be soft and dent easily, so by adding tellurium we make it stronger and easier to machine. It also offers natural antimicrobial properties for those worried about germy hands. Copper will patina over time.
Bronze has been used for centuries to make ship fittings and seafaring equipment and more recently found its place firmly in the high-end diving watch industry. It has a vintage-like matte patina, which differs from pen to pen depending on the owner's environment and lifestyle, making each pen beautiful in its own right. Its most outstanding property is its ability to resist corrosion even in seawater. Bronze weighs about 10% more than stainless steel. It reacts with oxygen, which results in its distinctive patina. This is the only bronze C52100 pen out there: a bronze typically reserved for high-end watches.
Stainless steel’s excellent resistance to corrosion and staining and low maintenance is why it's the most used material in the high-end watch industry -- making it a great choice for a pen.
Your stainless steel pen will keep its clean sleek look even in the harshest environments. The pen is not too heavy, but heavy enough to feel the heft of quality. It will not dull or patina over time. It is very easy to take care of and will become a trusted member of your life.
In 2016 I set out on a mission to perfect the pencil inside and out, and this elegant yet durable mechanical pencil is the result of that process. I’ve hidden the intricate workings of its mechanism entirely inside and I hand blend the parts to look completely seamless.

This is a really beautiful pencil, very solid and nicely balanced. The pencil is a joy to use.
I absolutely love this pen, from the wonderfully thought of packaging to the beautiful pen. I highly recommend this for any collection!
This pencil amazes me in every way.
At first I was unsure of how it would feel writing with a pure metal pencil. I was afraid my hand would start hurting, that is not the case with this pencil, at least not for the math sessions I have had with it this far. The weight was something I was looking forward to, I love holding things you can feel the weight of in your hand, only downside might be dropping it during a lecture, that sound is LOUD, at least it's a robust creation which can easily tank the fall!
When it comes to the design and look of the pencil, I'm in awe every time I take it out from the box, it's stunning, and I've recieved a lot of compliments on it. The seamless design is magnificent, and the ability to change out the mechanism is awesome. Being able to brush the finish of the pencil whenever you want is also pretty cool, you can change the look and feel noticeably by changing how you polish it with the scotch brite.
The erasers are a really big surprise to me, I find myself in fear of using the eraser on your everyday supermarket cheap mechanical pencil. That is not the case for the modern fuel 2.0, I recieved a pack of extra erasers due to some delay on the shipping, and man I love thos little things. Now for obvious reasons it's nice to have an eraser by the side as well, but I find myself using the eraser on the pencil more and more!
All in all I have nothing bad to say about this beautiful creation, what you see advertised is what you get, and what you get is really stunning. All credit goes to Andrew Sanderson for creating this magnificent mechanical pencil.
